A Smile in the Mail and the Bunyas or Bust

Okay not to sound old fashioned here, but seriously take me back to the good old days of snail mail immediately.  Really are you not like me, don't you just love getting a handwritten letter, a postcard, a just for no reason other than I was thinking of you card, a parcel, ooh a parcel, crinkly paper, stickytape, string, lots of stamps....... be still my beating heart.  Really who doesn't, I buy books online, just so I can get a parcel, I buy my art supplies online so the postie has to throw a parcel over my fence, ah I love it.  Really I do, so how excited do you think I was when I received some gorgeous, British Royal Wedding Street Party goodness in the mail?  Yesiree, my pal Spud, sent me a little bit of British love, ahh I am so happy.  My super dooper, street party wedding souvenir is adorable and I love love love it.  So thank you Spud, I love you!!!!!!!
Now yesterday we drove an hour and a bit into the mountains, the Bunya Mountains to be exact.  And the name comes from the fact that there are thousands of Bunya Pines up them there mountains.  Oh and kangaroos, whoa now, check out this big boy uh hum, no confusing that this is a boy is there. These guys and gals were everywhere, I know how fascinated people are with roos, here check out these guys and we'll get down to other things okay.

They were so tame I could get up really close for these shots.  Can you see the joey in the pouch of the roo on the ground?  I love joeys and there were lots up here.  They came up to one of the cabins and just layed around for a few hours ha ha.
We walked a bit in the rain forest and stumbled across this amazing orange mushroom.
The tracks were damp, and shadowy, cool and ancient.
Strange things grew there, strange but beautiful.
Then we drove home and past this old, old house, can you see the big bull resting under the tree?
I wonder when the postman last left a parcel for these people?
And again the wonder of autumn.  What did you do this weekend?

Come For A Walk With Me

Today is the 2nd June and so it is the 2nd day of winter here.  Yesterday was cold, cloudy, drizzly, windy, ah but today is beautiful.  The dew was heavy last night and this morning left behind are jewels, everywhere.  Left for us to find as we walk together.
Beauty hidden everywhere, if you just look you'll find it.
Pretty baubles left over from Autumn, brilliant and bold, they don't hide themselves at all.
The air is cold, but nature is playing with us, she is leaving fires for us to find, bright, beautiful and so pretty.  The sun peaks through in a star burst.
Some jewellery for you to dangle from your wrist, your ears maybe.
A burst of colour to surprise us.
Thirsty?  I think not!!!!  But pretty none the less.
You might need your sunglasses or maybe to squint and shade your eyes from the starburst on water.
Diamonds, crystals, ice left behind so gorgeous.
Beautiful bokeh, I love it.
Jewels for you.
Oh and a surprise, looking down on me, wondering what I am doing, the old nest makes way for the new.
Hmm I see you, but you are a little shy.
Now there's no need for that, really!!
I'm glad we walked together, let's do it again sometime.

A Snap Shot of Autumn

I love to find a heart in nature I've said it before and it hasn't changed.
Lay down breathe slowly, take it all in, the beauty of the changing seasons.
Like stained glass the sun shines through.
ooh I love the colours of autumn.  Not a lot of words today, our Lucas was born almost 2 years ago and I am feeling a little blue.

Autumn on a Sunday

Love is in the air, every sight and every sound, an old song came to my mind when I saw this photo I took at a Garden fest in town today.
And I send my love to you.....
The leaves are tumbling to the ground, red and brown and almost black.
So beautiful as they lay dying.
Imagine me laying on the grass in my white linen skirt and my husband sitting watching, shaking his head with a smile on his face.  He has the patience of a saint truly he does.
And the sun shone and the wind blew and we knew Autumn had arrived.
Happy Sundays, lazy days.

Red and Brown is Autumn

Finally it is autumn, I know it is the leaves are turning.  Turning red and brown and yellow and falling, tumbling to the ground.
The air is cooler, the nights fresh and the mornings hazy with fog and a hint of winter.
The year seems to be rushing by so fast, am I getting slower as I get older, that it seems there aren't enough hours in the day.  And at the end of each one I am done, tired to the bone.  Or is it really that life is busier, there is so much to do, so much to learn, so much to try.  I don't know, I just know I am having fun, discovering new things, teaching myself new things, experimenting, learning. I love my life mostly.  I am fortunate I know.
And now some candy for your eyes, and love to you.
