More Art Journal

So now I am chomping at the bit to get into my art journalling again.  It's been days since I did any mainly because we have,.... excuse me.... BLOODY MICE in the studio.  And I am no animal lover when it comes to four legged tiny bucky toothed vermon.  Seriously gross me out.  So I have layered corners with pretty lime green rat poison.  I have got a little smelly squirter thingy going off every 15 minutes, I can't stand the slightest whiff of mouse.  And I recruit Adrian every afternoon to scout out the studio to see if there are any more mouse or rat poops anywhere.  I am the biggest sook when it comes to this really.
So I have all my stuff on the kitchen table this morning and I am going to do some work down here.  I have also signed up for the She Art class which starts in April, so I am getting into finding my arty side.  Hope I actually have one ha ha!!  Fun looking for it anyways.
Above is a collage page we were prompted to do at the Blue Bazaar  site.  Go to the blog and then the Art Journal prompt on the side.  Also this has to be one of the very best scrapping and paper supplies sites I have ever found.  I actually really like the colours in this and I love all the smudging around the panels.
This prompt was meant to be using punches.  I only have a couple of punches so used stencils instead got a similar effect and I don't mind this page either.  I must be liking myself more I don't hate everything I create lately. I am surprised at the actual level of enjoyment I get from this fiddling.  I know I would spend hours scrapping some time back and I really do need to get back into that as well, time my friends that's the thing finding the time and managing the time I do have better.
So off to play have a good one.

Life Map Journalling

More of my art journalling, it is strange for me to do things that are quite messy looking, I guess that is all the letting go of doing this task.  I have to say I am enjoying it though.  I have done another page and really like it, will show you next week.  My scanner is still on the fritz so I am trying to take reasonable photos of the pages.
It surprised me when I looked at the map and saw that i have only lived in those 3 town, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Toowoomba.  I feel like I have been everywhere man.  But we have lived in so many houses, units, caravans etc., I guess that is why I feel like a gypsy.  The house I was born in and that my dad built and he and mum lived in all their married lives and dad lived in for over 40 years was recently demolished and a big rectangle box put up in its place.  It was very strange driving past on a recent visit to Brisbane and seeing another house there.
I like the old map though Tasmania called Van Diemen's Land crazy....
I am still to even go to Tassy, when I wanted to go years ago the children pooh poohed that idea, so it is still an adventure waiting to be had for Adrian and I.  As is much of Australia.  It is such a big country with the cities such a long way apart as far as travel goes.  But on the other hand it is a big land waiting to be discovered by us on the rest of our life journey together.
Where and how far have you been?

Art Journalling a Journey

Talk about excited, like a little kid waiting for the postman to come, well that was me until yesterday.  I have been waiting on a special kit to arrive from my favourite scrapbooking and papercraft store Blue Bazaar.  They are running an Art Journalling day each Friday and I have wanted to Art Journal forever, but really I am so not arty.  I can get a nice photo now and then, thank heavens for digital cause I delete heaps.  I have done some crafty things over the years, ceramics I liked, but really how many, bowls, platters and vases can one person have.  Scrapbooking, well I really enjoy that, but I have always wanted to be like an artist you know, make something from scratch.  So when they offered this kit and then the weekly prompts, I had to jump on board.  All my goodies arrived yesterday along with a couple of my Stampington Magazines, Digital Studio and Apprentice oooh I love Stampington magazines!!!!
Blue Bazaar's Luise blogs a prompt and some directions each week and to be honest I am really just following her lead at this stage.
This first page is the 10 most important things for me in 2011.
creating, peace, calming down, healthy living, building friendships, family, accepting me, centering myself, finding my muse and doing it!!!!!  These are the things I want to concentrate on this year.
I found the entire process wonderful.  I actually felt like I was creating something that was okay.
We had to write a quote around the outside and my quote was...
The deep root of failure in our lives is to think, "Oh how useless and powerless I am."  It is essential to think strongly and forcefully "I can do it", without boasting or fretting
Tenzin Gyatso   14th Dalai Lama

My scanner isn't working I wish I could show you the entire page, but I love it!  I enjoyed it so much.  Do you Art Journal?
