SIMPLE THINGS
my favourite soft, softly scented warm knitted throw
hot sweet coffee,
spicy maple biscuits straight from the oven
mind food of my favourite kind
feet tucked under
pretty flowers
the sound of the rain on the roof
the smell of the dust settling
soft boiled eggs
sprinkled with cracked pepper
sea salt
hot buttery toast
my tummy full
thinking of my friends
here and far away
the sound of the birds after the rain
wishing i knew you better
that i could actually talk to you
hear your voice
sip a wine
eat together
laugh and cry
talk and sigh
share the love
until that time

Today is Christina's birthday, you probably know her, most everyone does, she's hosting a blog party on the 16th July and everyone is welcome, yep even if you haven't met her yet she's not the kinda girl who'd turn you away. So put on your best birthday party outfits and head on over and take a cake, or some cheese or some hot crusty bread, some good wine and an armful of love and go say Happy Birthday, glad I could come, so nice to meet you, or good to visit again.
