Texture Tuesday

Well hello there, wow time is just flying right now.  SO it's been a fortnight since my last post and the days have run together and here we are, 2 weeks later.  I have had something like bronchitis, I have had my mum visit for 5 days (wow) I am still her baby, and she lets me know ouch!!  I have booked a cruise and I am doing a photography course on line, so no wonder I feel snowed under.  Plus as my last post showed I am trying my hand at some mixed media works as well.  I think I need to prioritise and slow down a bit actually.  Oh and I started a weight loss programme today, hey I am not going to be the fat lady on the cruise deck.  No way!!!  So for Texture Tuesday over at Kim's we had a free for all, so long as we used 2 of her textures.  My before picture above and below the textured image.
The textures are subtle I know but I do like the stark contrast of this second shot.  I used a layer of Kim's called love and a layer called peacock, I fiddled with the levels, and the brightness and contrast and I like the end result.
What do you think?

  2. Kim, oh I hope you feel better soon, sounds like a lot going on. A cruise sounds wonderful. I too am starting a new program. I had an info session last week about gastric bypass which I don't want to do. What I like with this program is they work with you, nurses, ocupational therapist, psychologist all trying to change your lifestyle. I won't get to see a doctor for about six months, but I want to have lost a bunch of weight and not need the surgery, because if you go back to the old habits it just comes back on....there big thing is to write down everytime you eat or drink and what caused you to eat what when, etc. The hard part for me is getting there to the appointments, but I have to help myself. ....sorry for ramblin. I hope you do great and that you get a new bathing suit, although I already know you are beautiful both inside and out. hugs to you.

  6. Wow, I love both versions -- you've captured some amazing bokeh here! Maybe I incline more to the textured version because I am drawn to the contrast of the turquoise against the blue in that one.

  8. Honestly? I love the subtlety and delicacy of the original image, and the surprise of those little rainbows. There's something mysterious about it that appeals to me. I find myself wondering, What is that? How did she capture it? But that's just me.

  16. I like the original image alot! I like stark contrast too so that means I like your second image. Sounds like you try to have too much fun. We have alot in common here - you know we're in the same class. I am also interested in mixed media, gardening, reading. Wow, small world.
I'm enjoying your journey and jealous that you're going on a cruise. I'm stuck here in midwest, usa with snow not far in our future (I love it though!) Have a great weekend.
