Texture Tuesday - Light

Oh gosh here we are again and for the first time in ages I am linking up to Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday.  I really enjoy participating in this group, but as I said a week ago, my days seem so busy at the moment, I haven't really had a chance lately.  Anyway the recipe for the above picture, which had to be themed around the word LIGHT is as follows:
firstly duplicate the picture and transform to black & white at 68%
layer with Kim's texture charmed on colour burn at 100%
layer again with  charmed this time on overlay at 47%
copy this again and add a frame and as they say in France..voila!!

It is autumn here in Australia and the days are bright and cool.  Though not as cool as usually at this time of the year.  The lorikeets, parrots and magpies are creating such a noise during the day.  The air smells like autumn, you know that leafy smell like when you kick the fallen leaves.  I love this time of year.  Snuggling up in bed in the morning, with a big wooly throw and a hot cup of tea, that's my idea of luxury.
Oh and I am so excited.  We went to a tender centre last weekend and I had a few tenders on some interesting items.  I scored this wonderful collection of old bottles.
Medicine bottles, pickles, tonics and chicory essence.  So exciting.  I got them purely to photograph and of course use as the cutest little vases.

The light was beautiful shining in on my new kitchen bench.
I had to have the red salt & pepper grinders, I just had too.
Yes we have renovated our old timber country kitchen and gone boldly red and shiny.

I love red at the moment and I love this red alongside the white cabinets and white stone top.  The splashback tiles behind the cooktop have lovely bits of glitter in them as does the bench top and I have a very lovely blingy round chandelier type light over the dinging table.  I'll post that when the walls are painted.  We now have to tile the floor, so excited.

  1. The light shining through the leaves together with your processing makes a spectacular image. Same for your pretty bottles. Love your new kitchen.....same red as I have in my family room which is open to a white kitchen. You have great taste. LOL

  4. I love the bottles especially. I have a collection (what else is new!) of bottles too and some of these that you have posted look vaguely familiar. I love the light shining through them. And those leaves!!! Incredible color play and light. You did great! My favorite color is red, Kim. Maybe that is why we get along so well!! Like I said: kindred spirits!
