Remember I wanted to photograph the tiny brown speckled eggs I found in the nest dear our driveway. Well too late, look what has happened. Tiny baby birds ooh my heart flutters, I love baby anything and baby birds oh so sweet. Mum was off fossicking for breakfast when I shot this. I am really cautious because I don't want to frighten her way. I read somewhere a long time ago that if the bird smells the humans who have touched the nest they leave. I'd seriously have to hand feed these babies then. So carefully I take little quick peeks now and then.
The tiniest little cheeps can be heard and the mouths open upward and mum flies in with a beak full of goodies for them. It is instinct at it's finest. Survival of the tiniest little things.
Just after I took this in came mum, giving me the evil eye and feeding the little ones. I love nature like this. It is amazing. Can you see the little threads of white fluffy stuff in the nest, it looks like stuffing from a pillow, I wonder where she found it. I want to keep this nest when the little ones fly away, a sweet memory of these tiny babies growing up here.
