Day 22 of Kitchen Stuff

DAY 22

I think it was Bourges in France, where Adrian found this little gem of a clock. So we carted it around for another 2 weeks, wrapped in bubble wrap and carefully transferred from one suitcase to the next, as we gradually began to load up on things to bring back.  I do love it though, it has a lovely pendulum swinging away under it and it has a pleasant little tick that I can hear most anywhere in the kitchen, family eating area.  It's really sweet and it is one of my favourite mementos from our journey through France.  It hangs on my kitchen wall and keeps me on time for all those things I have to get to.

A Kim Klassen texture once again they are delish really.

Father's Day as I said yesterday was wonderful and here is the little angel that first stole my heart some 26 years ago(Alicia) and here is the wonderful young man(Paul) who stole hers about 6 years ago and here is the newest little angel to steal all our hearts......Princess Elle.  What a Father's Day.  How tiny are those little toes. ha ha he!!!!

A Glimpse

Ok come on in quietly now, well not too quietly since she isn't home yet, but it is her room and I am practicing, tippy toeing around not waking the baby.  Elle is due home this afternoon, 3 days old and I haven't seen her in real life yet.  How did that happen!!!! I mean seriously, I am in trouble here, panting and sweating to get a hold of her.

Adrian painted Alicia's kitchen for her today and I washed the cot sheets and some baby clothes, in preparation for her homecoming.  It was even the first time we had been in her room since Alicia had dressed it in girly things.  It looks so sweet.

The little cows spinning and playing music behind the sweet chinese doll were given to Lucas, they make me laugh whenever I play them.  We got them in Switzerland last year and just loved them.

Oh and the sexy stiletto up top, was painted in ink by an artist in Monte Marte this year, its cool.  See the Eiffel Tower in the heel shadow.

Of course there a a stack of books, Alicia is addicted to reading and spends hours flying through novels, so little Elle will be well read in no time.

And spoilt, well she will be very loved let's put it that way.  Today I went out and couldn't resist a little leopard print legging and pink swing top and leopard print hat.  Umm along with 3 other outfits, two beanies and a bunny rug.  Oops, what can I say.!!!

But she does have some cute little bears too, which reminds me I have a gorgeous black one arriving soon.  Umm like I said just a little spoilt.

I almost forgot I picked up this so cute ladybug a week or two back, when I didn't even know if Alicia was having a girl or boy, I think I am the toy lover actually.  So this afternoon when the Princess arrives home I will get a few snaps and you can all drool along with me tomorrow ok.

A Baby is Born

Well I suppose you can guess, I am a nanny again.  Yes last night at 10.30pm little Elle Faith Middleton was born.

We got the call just after midnight and of course that was the end of sleep for me.  Actually I had turned out the lights at about 9.45pm and hadn't been able to sleep much at all.  I wonder if it is possible that there is some incredible link between mothers and daughters and that somehow I knew Alicia was in the midst of giving birth while I was trying to sleep.  I think it's possible.

We have only one photo at the moment and I'm not sure if Alicia would want me to post it.  Elle is new in it really new, her hair still damp and her face still blotchy and not yet washed.  But she is beautiful. No I'm not being biased, really she has a cute little dimple and so much hair.  Just like her mum and her precious brother Lucas.

Right now we are waiting on some results from tests done last night and I am literally chewing my fingers off.  Please God don't let anything happen to this little darling.  I really don't know if my heart could go through that again and I am certain it would be too much for Paul and Alicia.  So today we wait, not very patiently but as best we can.  We wait to hear that our little princess is well and we wait to see her.  We wait to cry with joy and rejoice in this wonderful, beautiful new life.

We wait with our hearts beating like broken wings and our minds swirling with the possibilities of this new life.  We wait to hold her in our arms and place kisses on her cheeks. We wait as grandparents and aunties and great grandmums.  We wait and pray and hope and wish for the phone to ring and for the good news to come.  We wait in anticipation and hope.  We wait and we love her.
